The State Government of Tamilnadu has recently announced the TN Overseas Scholarship 2025. This scholarship is helpful for students who want to study abroad. The Ministry of Minority Affairs has announced this overseas scholarship program, which provides financial aid to 10 students from the Muslim community every year. And this amount is helpful for them to study abroad, with the assistance provided to them of around 36 lakh per student.
Many students wish to continue their higher education abroad. But their families are not able to afford the expenses of their studies. In this situation, the government of Tamilnadu and the Ministry of Minority Affairs play an important role and provide an opportunity to study abroad with financial assistance provided by the government.
TN Overseas Scholarship Scheme
This is scholarship is helpful for the students and assist them in their higher studies, if they admitted to institution ranked within top 250 global Quacqarelli Symonds) rankings. The scholarship program will be implemented through Tamil Nadu Waqf Board on pilot basis. It will assist Muslim students to pursue post graduate programs in Engineering and Management, applied science, agriculture science and medicine, international Commerce, economics, accounting finance, humanities, social science, fine arts, and law. The applicants total family income from all the sources must not exceed 8 lakh per annum. As per government order in this regard was issued in the first week of the September.

Need of TN Overseas Scholarship Scheme
The Commissioner of minorities welfare informed the state government that the Government of India had discontinued the Padho Pradesh program. And further submit a proposal to implement an Overseas scholarship program to continue supporting the education and economic advancement of the students from the minority communities. Tamilnadu Government accepted the proposal and sanctioned Rs 3.60 crore for 2025-26.
This is scholarship has two components tuition fees payable by the student every year and living visa fee medical insurance premium and airfare at the beginning and end of the program. The total scholarship under both components should be exceed 36 lakh per candidate. A state level selection committee will scrutinize the application received.
TN Overseas Scholarship Eligibility
As per guidelines issued applicant must fulfill all the eligibility requirements as listed below.
- Applicant must have obtained 60% marks or its equivalent in graduation degree in English discipline.
- The applicant must have admission letter from institution.
- Applicant must not exceed age 30 years.
- Candidate must be permanent resident of tamilnadu State.
