PM PRANAM Scheme Under Which Ministry

The PM PRANAM Scheme, which stands for “PM program for restoration, awareness, Nourishment, and Amelioration of Mother Earth. This scheme is under the department Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India.
The primary objective of this scheme is to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and to promote alternative and eco-friendly farming methods such as organic and natural farming. This is also helpful to encourage states and farmers to protect the environment and improve fertility by using fewer Chemicals and adopting sustainable practices.

- This scheme is helpful to reduce excessive use of urea, DAP and other chemical-based fertilizers that harm the soil.
- To increase awareness among farmers about the natural farming methods that are both affordable and eco-friendly.
- Also helpful to protect soil from chemicals also our water resources, and preserve the groundwater ecosystem.
- States that reduce chemical fertilizer consumption below will receive a financial incentive from the central government.
- The government also provide support the farmers to shift smoothly from chemical to natural farming with training and awareness.
How does PM Pranam Scheme Works
Working process:
- The Central Government does not allocate separate funds for the PM Pranam Scheme. Instantly, the money saved from subsidy deduction on chemical fertilizer is given as an incentive to the state that performed well in reducing fertilizer use.
- These States can use 50% offline Centipede to promote alternative fertilizers like biofertilizers, Nano urea, and compost.
- The remaining 50% can be used for farmers’ campaign training programs.
Why We Need PM Pranam Scheme?
It is all know that India is spending a huge amount of fertilizer subsidies every years around 2 lakh crore. Which help the farmers temporarily, also harm the environment and use of government funds.
By promoting natural farming, the PM Pranam Scheme will not only save the subsidy burden but also create a balanced approach towards agriculture growth and environment conversion.

This scheme has a very powerful idea but there are some challenges.

How to Apply for PM Pranam Scheme 2025
This is a kameez mainly designed for the state governments not for the individual farmers directly. However farmers can still benefit from the scheme through state level program training and incentives.
State level implementation:
- The Government of India has asked all the states and union territories to prepare their own PM Pranam Scheme plans for action.
- These plans show how the state will reduce chemical fertilizers use and promote natural farming.
- These states that show a miserable reduction in fertilizer consumption will receive financial incentive.
Department and Portal registration:
- This scheme is managed by the Ministry of Chemicals and fertilizers.
- Each state will upload the data about fertilizer use and saving on fertilizer dashboard portal maintain by central government.
- There is no separate portal for public registration.
