In a significant step, the government is going to expand the reach of welfare benefits. for Jammu and Kashmir Government has announced relaxation in minimum education qualification under the marriage assistant scheme for Poor girls.
According to an order copy, the administration has decided to relax the minimum qualification requirement of 8th class pass or its equivalent up to March 31st, 2028. This decision, taken in partial modification of government order No. 49-JK(SWD) of 2022, has been approved by the Council of Ministers decision on 15th October to 25 and the Finance Department.
This relaxation will be effective from 1st April 2025 onwards. Information will be provided in order. The government has detailed the procedure for processing applications that were rejected due to the qualification bar, as well as for those who could not apply because of the same condition. The revised procedure has been outlined in Annexure B of the order.
