On Monday, the chief minister launched the cheque distribution for Mukhyamantri Nijut Moina Achoni 2.0 scheme. As per information, more than 3.5 lakh girl students will receive financial assistance in the 2025-2026 academic year. Chief Minister attended the centrally organised Nijut Moina 2.0 Cheque Distribution event at Arjun Bhogeshwar Baruah Sports Complex in Sarusajai. Nijut Moina will benefit more than 3.5 lakh girl students and help them to achieve their dreams.

Importance of Nijut Moina 2.0
In Assam, many girls face challenges of economic hardship and social pressure, including early marriages. The government has recognised this and started the Nijut Moina scheme, which increases education attainment by incentivising girls to stay in school and college.
This Scheme is to launch with a primary objective that girl candidates have their chance by providing them financial assistance so they can complete their studies without dropping out or being pushed into early family formation. According to the reports, the scheme was launched in 2024, which aims to cover 10 lakh girls’ students in Assam in the coming years.
